Celebrating TON 1

A new event space at Berlin’s creative campus for pioneers of change

With the launch of TON 1 a significant milestone of Atelier Garden’s transformation is completed – a highly flexible event space sensitively configured within a 100 year old studio building. Architects MVRDV have devised a highly sophisticated system of overhead light and textile curtain railing, that leaves the original listed structure untouched, and yet allows for varied subdivision of the space, accommodating events for up to 1,000 people, from concerts to conferences, education to exhibitions, workshops to film screenings.

Event Programme:

2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m. Exclusive tours of TON 1 and the campus. The 5 p.m. tour is fully booked.

3 p.m. – 6 p.m.  MUTUALITY, NOT CHARITY, WILL SAVE US programme by Arts of the Working Class with performances by Franziska Aigner, Office for the use of Mistakes and Coincidences, Dj Obstsalat and Dj Zhao, as well as artworks by Asta Gröting, Lena Kocutar and Teresa Hoffmann, and Paul Sochacki. Suspended on the curtains of Ton 1: a selection of historical silent films by Urban Gad, Ernst Lubitsch, Adolf Edgar Licho. Food by  ROKU, AbenoAbenue, Chris Paxton of Lucky You Studios, drinks by Das Hotel Bar.

3:30 p.m. Workshop with Roots Radicals: Basic Principles of Fermentation.

4 p.m. Workshop with Michael Lück: Overcoming overwhelm

6 p.m. – 7 p.m. Welcome and Apéro with drinks, music performance by Franziska Aigner and surprise by KaosPilots. 

7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. “Talks from Atelier Gardens: Ingredients for Regenerative Cities”. Panel Discussion with a keynote by Dr. J. Daniel Dahm (Scientist, World Future Council) and contributions by Jacob van Rijs (MVRDV), Marion Miketta (Coach and Author), Jacob Fels (Tiny Farms), Ayham Majid Agha (The Flying Stage) and Harald Schindele and Markus Hirschmüller (HS Architekten). Hosted by Benjamin Rodrigues Kafka (Atelier Gardens).

8:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. Food, drinks and music by DJ Obstsalat & DJ Zhao.
